Pinger Social

What is it and how does it work?

Pinger Social lets you hear, see and message people right on their mobile phones. Call, text, IM and more, free.

How do I get started?

go to m.pinger.com from your mobile phone and:
Explore profiles of people in your area or around the country. Found someone interesting? Send them a private text or voice message right to their mobile phone. If they're "online?, you can even start an IM conversation with them.

Use Pinger Social to IM your buddies on AIM, Yahoo, MSN and Google Talk. If they're not "online", you can still send them an IM that they will receive as an SMS right on their phone. Start an IM-to-mobile chat with anyone whose mobile number you already have in your Pinger contacts, even if you don't know what IM program they use or what their screen name is. When you use Pinger Social to send instant messages, your IMs do not count against your text messages.

Pinger Social pulls in feeds and updates from Myspace, Facebook and Twitter so you can see what’s going on with your friends and connect with them while you’re mobile.

There's plenty more to do with Pinger Social. Comment on people's profiles, even give them electronic "kudos". If you’re a bit shy, you can send a funny audio clip or "tap" to the people you like—all while keeping your number private.

call 858-2PINGER (858 274-6437)

trade voice messages with anyone you find on Pinger, or anyone whose mobile number you already know. Just call 858-2-PINGER from your mobile phone, say the name of the person you want to message and talk. They get your message on their mobile phone and can reply with just one button.

Why would I create a profile?

Get discovered by customizing your own profile. Upload your picture, record your own voice intro, share your interests and set your preferences so other people can find you. Invite your friends to check out your profile, and ask them to give you "kudos" to improve your rating.

Is it safe?

Your mobile number is always kept private. Pinger provides privacy options so you can control who sees your profile (only those with your number, your friends on Pinger Social or everyone) and also gives you the ability to ban or report people you think are behaving inappropriately.

Is it free?

Yes—we don't charge anything to use Pinger Social, but your carrier may charge for phone calls, text messages and web browsing. Also, note that if you are instant messaging to someone's mobile number and they are not using Pinger, the instant messages they send and receive will count against their text messages.
